Pattaya or Phuket?
Pattaya is two hours by road from Bangkok, out of Ocean Marina in Jomtien, and the day usually sits inside a Bangkok-and-Pattaya trip, with the big parties in the city at either end.
Phuket is an eighty-minute flight, so it wants four days or more. The islands, routes and hours are on yacht charter Pattaya and yacht charter Phuket.
Which Boat, Before You Ask the Price
The class decides the day: how many people fit, how steady the deck is, and how far out you get before lunch.

We quote the class and the size, not a named boat. The charter is priced by the boat, so the cost a person halves between eight people and sixteen on the same day.
The Season Picks the Coast
The Andaman, off Phuket, runs November to April. The Gulf, off Pattaya, works all year and is at its best November to April.
December to February is peak on both. The better boats are gone eight weeks out; outside peak, four weeks is comfortable.
Six Answers and You Get a Real Number
- The date, and whether it can move by a day.
- How many people, and whether that number is firm.
- Which coast, or that you want us to choose.
- Eight hours or a half day.
- What the day is for — swimming, the sound system up, or lunch and the photographs.
- How big the party is the evening before.

The cheapest way in is ฿49,000 for an eight-hour Pattaya charter. You pay for the boat by the day, the catering by the head, and the cars by the car.
What moves it: the coast, the boat, the season and the number of people. December to February is peak on both coasts, and the better boats are gone eight weeks out.
What you pay on top: national park fees where they apply, and crew tips, which are yours to decide.
If it changes: tell us more than forty-eight hours out and we move the date at no cost.

What the Pattaya Day Actually Is
Board at 10:00, two or three anchorages, lunch on board, back at the marina by late afternoon.
The islands are close. Koh Larn is forty minutes out, Koh Sak and Koh Phai a little further.
The Gulf is forgiving most of the year, which is why a December charter here is a safer bet than one off Phuket in August.
What the Phuket Day Buys You
Bigger water, better islands, and a wider choice of boats. Charters leave from Ao Po Grand Marina or Royal Phuket Marina and run into Phang Nga Bay, or south to Racha Yai.
The karsts in Phang Nga are the reason people book Phuket and then talk about it for a decade.
The Andaman side is rough from May to October. Build a spare day behind an August charter.
How Long Is the Whole Day?
About fourteen hours to Pattaya and back. Leave the hotel at 07:30, board at 10:00, home in Bangkok around 20:00.
The 07:30 is not caution. The motorway towards Chonburi stops being kind after eight.
From a Phuket hotel the same day runs about nine hours, because the drive disappears.
Who Decides If the Sea Is Too Rough?
The captain, and his call stands over ours and over yours.
He can move or cancel the charter for sea state on the morning.
Charters move to another day or are refunded under the operator's terms, and you get those terms in writing before you book.
What Is on the Boat and What Is Not
The boat and crew for the agreed hours, catering and bar to the standard you choose, and transfers at the marina end.
Ice, soft drinks, beer, spirits and a cooked lunch come in at ฿2,400 a person.
A speaker system is standard. Bring the playlist.
Not on board: jet skis, unless the boat carries them, and a second bar run once you have left the marina.
Can We Have Girls and Hosts on Board?
Models and hosts come on board where the boat allows it, by the hour, settled before the day.
We square it with the boat first, never spring it on the crew at the pontoon.
Numbers, hours and cost sit on the invoice like everything else.
Is the River or the Sea the Better Day?
In Bangkok, a three-hour private boat on the Chao Phraya starts at ฿48,000 for sixteen people.
Off Pattaya, ฿49,000 buys eight hours instead of three, on a bigger boat, with a crew that is yours until the afternoon.
For a thousand baht more you get a completely different day, and you pay for it in travelling time.
The river is the better call for a group with three days in Bangkok and none to spare.
You can also make the travel leg part of it. A helicopter charter from Bangkok to Pattaya is from ฿240,000, VAT included, and turns two hours of motorway into twenty-five minutes.
The Day We Nearly Got Wrong
A group of fourteen from Sydney put their Phuket charter on the morning after their first big party.
Nine boarded. Four slept through it and one was ill before the first anchorage.
The boat cost the same as it would have with fourteen people enjoying it.
So we now ask how big the party is the evening before, and we push for moving the sea day back twenty-four hours.
That conversation has cost us bookings and saved better ones.
What We Will Not Do on a Charter
We will not sell a Phuket charter into a three-day Bangkok trip.
We will not put a sea day on the morning after the biggest party, unless you insist after reading this.
We will not overrule a captain on sea state.
We will not quote a boat with the fuel left out to make the number look better.
How Many People Fit on a Charter?
Twelve to twenty fits the common charter sizes on both coasts. Above twenty the choice narrows and the price per head stops improving.
Between December and February it narrows again, whatever the size of the group.

Charters want more notice than a river run. Four weeks is comfortable, and December to February wants eight.

Pattaya or Phuket for a Bachelor Party?
Pattaya for a trip based in Bangkok, because it is a two-hour drive and you are back the same evening. Phuket for four days or more, because the sea and the choice of boats are better.
How Many People Fit on a Charter?
