Yes: you can go tandem skydiving near Pattaya, the closest drop zones to Bangkok, strapped to an instructor over the Gulf of Thailand.

Skydive Pattaya's own site lists a tandem skydive at ฿8,300 per person, with video available on request.

A tandem jump needs no experience: the instructor does the flying, and you do the screaming.

Book the jump for a morning, so it fits the day the group moves to Pattaya, or a day trip from Bangkok.

Nobody jumps after a heavy night, so the skydive goes after a quiet evening, never the morning after the big one.

The handcam video is the best wedding-speech material the trip will produce.

Where can you go wakeboarding and paintballing near Bangkok?

You can go cable wakeboarding at Taco Lake near Suvarnabhumi or at Thai Wake Park, and paintball at a dedicated field, all within a drive of central Bangkok.

Hotels.com's Bangkok extreme-sports guide puts two hours at Taco Lake at around ฿400, and Thai Wake Park from around ฿800 for two hours.

Siam@Siam lists Thai Wake Park's Pattaya branch from ฿850 for two hours, about fifteen minutes from the centre.

Cable wakeboarding needs no boat and no experience: a cable pulls you round the lake, and the falls are into warm water.

The same Hotels.com guide puts a paintball package at around ฿450, including 100 balls.

Paintball suits a big group best, divided into two teams with the groom as the target.

Both are hot, so go in the morning or late afternoon, with plenty of water.

Time Out Bangkok puts eight-minute sessions at EasyKart on RCA at ฿500 to ฿600, with helmets and overalls included.

Prothom Alo reported a one-day licence at Bungsamran Fishing Park at ฿2,000 per person, for Mekong giant catfish that can weigh up to 200kg.

Fighting a catfish the size of a man is harder than it sounds, and the photo with the fish is the one the groom keeps.

Muay Thai training is a private session for the group, with the groom taking the last round.

All of them run better as a competition, with the loser buying the first round that evening.
