Ten of you, and one of you wants a fight

Ten of you, and at least one of the boys has been talking about Muay Thai since the flights were booked.

Good. It's the best daytime activity in Bangkok for a stag group.

We throw these parties every week, for groups of eight and groups of twenty, and the fight is one of the parts groups ask for most.

Muay Thai is Thailand's national sport, the art of eight limbs: fists, elbows, knees and shins.

You get two versions of it.

By day, you train: a private session with a trainer, pads, sweat and a lot of laughing.

After dark, you watch: ringside at one of Bangkok's famous stadiums, with the music, the rituals and the crowd.

Do both and the groom gets a story nobody at the wedding can top.

Nobody needs to be fit. The trainer meets everyone where they are, and nobody spars unless they want to.

That's the quick version. Tell us your dates and we build the fight into the plan.

The training session

A private session is just your group and the trainer. No crowded class, no strangers watching.

It starts with a warm-up: skipping, stretching and shadow boxing.

Then the trainer teaches the stance and the basic strikes, one by one.

The best part is the pads.

The trainer calls combinations, and you punch, kick, knee and elbow to the rhythm, one at a time, while the rest of the boys shout.

The groom always goes last, and always gets the hardest round.

It suits every fitness level, because the trainer adjusts it for everyone.

The session happens at a private gym, with just your group and the trainer, and nobody else on the mats.

Wear shorts and a T-shirt. You train barefoot, and the gym has gloves and wraps.

Morning or late afternoon is best, out of the midday heat. Drink water before and after, and keep the beers for later.

Send us your dates and we book the trainer.

Fight night, ringside

Then watch the real thing.

Bangkok's famous stadiums, including Rajadamnern and Lumpinee, hold fights several evenings a week.

The atmosphere is electric: the traditional music, the pre-fight ritual dance, the crowd shouting every strike.

Ringside is where you want to be: close enough to hear the gloves land, and to feel it when the crowd erupts.

A host explains the scoring and the rituals, so the boys know what they're watching.

After training that morning, it all makes sense.

The failure is buying cheap seats at the back and watching it on your phone.

We stop that by holding ringside seats for the whole group, together.

The biggest fight cards sell out, so we check the card for your dates first.

The fights finish in time for a late dinner and the club. Cars wait outside, so nobody hunts for a taxi after.

See why we put the fight night on day one, then tell us your date.

Where it fits in the weekend

Put Muay Thai early in the trip.

Day one or day two, while everyone still has legs and nobody is nursing the big party.

The best shape: training in the late afternoon, a shower, the fight, then dinner and a club.

Or train in the morning, spend the afternoon by the villa pool, and go ringside in the evening.

The failure is booking training the morning after the big party.

Half the group doesn't show, and the groom trains alone. We plan the weekend so that never happens.

One activity a day is plenty. Leave the evening after the fight free for the club, not a second activity.

Muay Thai pairs well with a Chao Phraya boat party or a pool day at your villa. The boys will thank you.

See every option in our VIP services, and how the whole weekend runs.

Tell us the number and the dates, and we build the plan around the fight.

What to know before you book

Tell the trainer about any injuries at the start. Stop if anything hurts.

Nobody spars unless they ask to, and the trainer keeps it fun.

Show respect in the gym: a wai to the trainer, and step through the ropes, never over them.

Bring a change of clothes and a towel, and leave valuables at the hotel.

At the stadium, seats go fast on big fight cards, and the best are ringside.

Book the seats and the trainer together, so the day flows.

Photos from the session make the best speech material at the wedding.

Tell us how many of you are training and how many are just watching.

The boys who would rather watch than train get the best view in the gym, and full heckling rights.

We sort the trainer, the seats, the cars and the dinner after. One message and the whole thing is handled.

Plan My Party and we hold it all.
