Six People

The easiest trip to run, and the one that can still change its mind at 4 pm.

One car holds all of you. One table seats all of you. A small private room is enough for the last night.

What works: a villa afternoon, a boat at sunset, a table after midnight, one room at the end.

What to skip: two vans, a bought-out rooftop, a party bus. You are paying for capacity you will not use.

Twelve People

The size this city is built for.

One van and one driver still hold the group. One long table still seats it. A party room takes it easily.

What works: a villa for the middle afternoon, a river charter at six, a VIP table on one night and a private room on the last.

What starts to break: group decisions. At twelve, somebody has to write the hours down or the afternoon disappears into a group chat.

Sixteen People

The size where a table stops being the answer.

Sixteen people do not fit one club table, and splitting across two tables splits the group for the night.

What works: a private room from the start of the night, not just at the end. Two vans, or one van and one car. A villa with six bedrooms rather than a floor of hotel rooms.

What to skip: anything that needs a reservation for sixteen in a normal restaurant on a Saturday. Book a long table somewhere that wants the business.

Twenty People and Up

Now you are running an event, and it has to be booked like one.

The party rooms at the venue we use take up to 30 people each. The pool zone next door holds 150, has a stage in the middle of the water, and rents for the whole night.

What works: one venue for the whole night. Two vans or a bus. A pool party in the afternoon instead of anything that needs seats.

What to skip: the roving bar crawl. Twenty people moving between venues lose an hour at every door, and two of you at the third one.

Everything else on a bachelor trip scales quietly. Those two hit a wall, and they hit it at twelve and again at sixteen.

Why Headcount Beats Budget

Money decides how good each hour is. The number decides which hours are possible at all.

A group of six can be talked into anything at an hour's notice. A group of twenty has to be booked into one place with a door, weeks out.

Everything below is the same city. It is three different trips.

The Van Maths

One van holds eight comfortably, and twelve at a push for a short hop.

Above twelve you are on two vehicles, which means two drivers, two arrival times and somebody counting heads at every door.

A Commuter is ฿3,500 and an Alphard ฿5,500, each up to eight people, one way or both ways from your hotel.

The Seating Maths

Eight people fit one club table. Twelve fit a big one. Sixteen do not fit any of them.

That is the whole reason the private room exists, and the reason we push big groups into one for the whole night rather than the last hour of it.

Thirty people fit one party room at the venue we use. One hundred and fifty fit the pool zone next door, which has a stage in the middle of the water.

What Changes on the Money at Each Size

Six to ten people, one night: from ฿100,000.

Ten to fourteen people, two nights: from ฿200,000, which is where most groups of twelve land.

Fourteen to twenty people, three nights: from ฿300,000.

Sixteen to thirty people, four nights: from ฿450,000.

Who Collects the Money

At six, whoever booked it pays and gets it back over a month.

At twelve, one best man collects before anybody flies, because chasing four people for a share after the trip ruins a friendship.

At twenty, it is collected in two halves, and the second half lands before the last night rather than after it.

Thirteen, and twenty-one.

Thirteen is one man past a single van and a single table, and it costs the same as sixteen would.

Twenty-one is one man past three vans of seven, and it turns a pool party into an event with a guest list.

How the Number Changes the First Night

Six people land and go straight out, and it works.

Twelve people land across three flights, so the first night is a rooftop hour and a long dinner, and nothing that needs everybody in the room at the same minute.

Twenty people land across a whole day, which is why the first night is deliberately the quiet one and the big room waits until everyone has slept.
