Bangkok is where the bucks party gets loud. Two days here is perfect.

Pattaya is about two hours down the coast by car. The car picks you up in Bangkok and drops you at the villa gate.

Your pool villa is the base: your own pool, the DJ on, party models keeping the energy up.

A chef cooks whatever you want, and everyone sleeps under one roof.

The yacht day is the highlight.

Your own boat to Koh Larn and the islands, clear water, the swim platform down, and the boys going off the back of it.

Lunch on board, drinks on ice, and the buck in the water all afternoon.

The mistakes that cost Aussie crews

The first mistake is flying in on the morning of the big party.

The buck lands exhausted, and the best party of the trip goes flat. Land the day before, and keep the first evening easy.

The second is booking the yacht on arrival day.

Flights get delayed, and the boat leaves without you. We put the yacht in the middle of the trip, with a back-up day.

The third is a villa that doesn't say yes to a party.

The music goes off at ten, the neighbours call, and the deposit is gone. We only use villas that say yes to a stag group.

The fourth is trying to do everything.

One activity a day and one big party is plenty, and the boys enjoy every hour of it.

When to come, and how to book

The best time for a Thailand bucks party is November to April, when it's dry and the sea is calm.

It lines up with the Australian summer, so flights are busy: book early.

Songkran in mid-April turns Bangkok into a water fight, and Pattaya celebrates a few days later.

Check your passport and visa rules before you fly, and complete Thailand's digital arrival card online.

Vapes are illegal in Thailand, so leave them at home.

Four or five days is the sweet spot for Bangkok and Pattaya. Book eight to ten weeks ahead for the peak months.
